[This was supposed to be Thursday's post, but my Internet died while I was finishing the draft and I couldn't post it! So here it is, a day late and a dollar short...]It has been two months since I first started this blog. Since then, I have come to grips with the fact that nothing can go on the calendar without first checking if my running schedule will allow it. I've started deliberately scheduling things on Mondays because it's my rest day and I don't have to worry about getting my run in.
I got to run outside today for the first time since January 23, and boy, was I ready for it. It was still not the equal of the run of splendiferous amazitude (January 14), but it was so good to hear the air roaring past my ears and feel my feet on the pavement. A raucous party of crows squawked and graaaacked above me in a huge oak overhanging the street at the half-mile mark, no doubt commenting on my running form. I actually ran very well, covering 3.27 miles in 34:00 flat for a pace of 10:23 per mile. This is the last Thursday 3-miler for a while--we bump up to 4 miles next Thursday and for many Thursdays thereafter.
Since it's been two months, I thought I'd do a quick rundown by the numbers of my progress thus far:
- Number of runs since December 4: 35
- Number of runs I have missed since December 4: 7
- Number of miles run since December 4: 95
- Highest weekly mileage so far: 13 (week of January 3)
- Longest run so far: 4.16 miles on January 16
- Fastest training run pace so far: 10:01/mile on January 30
Is it wrong that I'm disappointed that I haven't hit 100 total officially-prepping-for-the-half-marathon miles yet? (Should I be scared?)

Wow, great progress Amanda. And lady, you are getting speedy, too! Keep up the good work both with running and blogging.
