Looking back, looking ahead W11/W10

It's official: we're less than 10 weeks away from the race now! (The race date is ten weeks from yesterday.)

I have more fantabulous news: my mom and dad are coming up for the race! Yep, my mom, the Demi-Goddess herself, the one for whom I am doing this whole half-marathon thing, will be there to cheer me on come race day. I am so happy and excited that they are coming. If I get tired during the race, all I have to do is think about my mom and dad waiting for me at the finish line. Thanks, guys. :-)

I am super glad it's a rest day today because I'm feeling a little off. I've had a vague headache all day and just don't feel quite myself. I'm hoping it's just caffeine withdrawal and that I will be fit as a fiddle tomorrow.

What was I was supposed to do in Week 11? Did I do it?
  • Tuesday: 4 miles YES!
  • Wednesday: CROSS-TRAIN YES! Pilates class with Kim
  • Thursday: 4 miles YES!
  • Friday: CROSS-TRAIN YES!
  • Saturday: 6 miles YES!
  • Sunday: 4 miles NOPE (super sore from Saturday)
Only fourteen miles for the week. It took me all week to run essentially one half-marathon distance. Sigh.

On the bright side, I don't think I have any more dog show stuff messing with my weekend training, so if I bag a run, it will be because I'm injured or sick, not because my schedule's out of whack.

What's my schedule for Week 10?
  • Tuesday: 4 miles
  • Wednesday: CROSS-TRAIN
  • Thursday: 4 miles
  • Friday: CROSS-TRAIN
  • Saturday: 6 miles (I am doing the five-mile race)
  • Sunday: 4 miles
It would be nice to actually do all of the mileage on this week's schedule. There is a huge increase next week (hint: Thursdays will become six-mile days!).

See you tomorrow!

  1. Wow, that's great that your parents are coming. And 14 miles isn't too shabby! Hope you're feeling better.

  2. Thanks! But considering that the people running 5 days a week did 22 miles last week, that's a bit of a difference.

I am feeling better. Excedrin has caffeine in it.
